I am a skilled and accomplished academic and practitioner, with years of experience in delivering education, training and consultancy. I gained my PhD in Social Work in 2014 and have sole authored a book from this work. I am very widely published, having edited two books, as well as articles in major academic journals, and regular contributions to blogs and media discussions, including as a guest on BBC Radio 4 and The Guardian. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a qualified Funeral Celebrant. Additionally, I am an experienced, registered Social Worker (no: SW115614), with formal training in Counselling skills and years of experience in diverse areas of practice, including within a Hospice. I am currently working towards my UK Council of Psychotherapy registration.
I am passionate about working with organisations and individuals facing the impacts of bereavement, loss and change and have also worked widely with a range of organisations in helping to ease transitions and build team cohesion.
I offer individual coaching and team building as well as bespoke and other training opportunities. During Covid 19 I have been involved with helping teams to work through the effects of multiple losses, as well as adapting to online working and other transitions.
